Dream a little dream for me…

Good evening all!

So I have gone from “insom-nom-nom-nia”  to the deepest sleep ever filled with the craziest dreams known to man (or woman 😉 alive.

I have literally gone from:

  • My boss dying
  • My dog drowning
  • My boyfriend cheating in a very explicit situation with my best friend
  • My Mum making me move every piece of clothing she owns to our new home

I mean come on, surely I should be enjoying the deep sleeps before the sleepless nights come right? But as I am sure we all know but now nothing about pregnancy is fair!!

The cause of crazy dreams:

“The changes in hormone levels bring on a feast of dreams in pregnant women,” says Garfield, who is author of Creative Dreaming and co-founder of the Association for the Study of Dreams. “In addition, pregnant women need to sleep more, and the more you sleep, the more you dream.”

Women also seem to dream more during pregnancy because they are more likely to remember their dreams.

“Twenty to twenty-five percent of your sleep is a dream state, and women who are pregnant are more likely to remember more of that percentage,” says Garfield.

Garfield explains that dream recall is related to recency. For example, if a baby is moving within the womb and causing the mother to wake, or the mother is waking up to go to the bathroom more often as pregnant women do, she is more likely to remember a dream she just had than if she slept through the night, remembering only the last dream she had before waking in the morning.

Why not to panic..

Try not to be disturbed by your dreams – they simply reveal your apprehension and excitement about the huge changes taking place in your life. If you’d like to, record your dreams and what you think they mean in a dream journal.

What crazy dreams have you had, share them with me…

Oh yes, but not to worry there are the sexy dreams to enjoy 😉 xx

      1. Funny. I have insomnia so that was what I was commenting on and that the dreams must happen when you really do sleep.
